Happy 4th of JULY! Part of the fun of living close to a base, is being able to stay in your backyard and watch the flyovers, without having to fight the traffic.

May your meat be hot,
your drinks cold,
your pineapple juicy,
and may you end the day with
something sweet!
Even if you stay in your own backyard!
Rice Krispy Treats
Gather all ingredients, dishes, and utensiles.
Spray the inside of your 3 qt. bowl with spray vegetable spray,
the spatula, too, and part way up the handle,
as well as the inside of an 8 x 8" glass pan.
Line the inside of your 8 x 8 pan with plastic wrap, 2 pieces laying in opposite directions. Spray the plastic wrap, too.
Measure out 6 cups of cereal into a bowl,
and set aside. In the sparyed 3 qt. bowl, add 4 cups of mini marshallows,
and 1/2 stick of margarine. Place in the microwave
and cook on high for 2 minutes.
Stir the marshmallow mixture
with the sprayed spatula,
until nearly smooth. Put the bowl back into the microwave and cook for an additional 30 secs until the mixture begins to bubble.
Stir again until
smooth. Add 1/2 of the cereal
into the melted marshmallow mixture. Stir well.
Add the remainder of the cereal,
and coat well
in the 3 qt bowl. Pour the mixture
into the sprayed, lined, 8 x 8" pan. Spray your hand
(and possibly respray the spatula again) with the vegetable spray and pat
the mixture firmly into the pan. Spray the inside of the 'tails' of the plastic wrap, and fold them
over the top of the treats. Set aside and allow to cool.
Once cooled, holding onto the plastic wrap, remove from the pan onto a cutting board
and cut into 4 columns
in each direction, making
16 squares. Enjoy!
